10 MOVIES TO WATCH THIS JANUARY

Meryl Streep: as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady

Our film critics rate and rank the latest films out now in UK cinemas.

1. The Artist | Rating: * * * * *

A silent celebration of early Hollywood that is visually ravishing, heart-warming and utterly beguiling.

2. The Iron Lady | Rating: * * * *

Meryl Streep's performance is astonishing. Some viewers may be disappointed that a Thatcher biopic lacks an explicit political agenda, but the film succeeds as a drama for that very reason.

3. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol | Rating: * * * *

Tom Cruise rises to the challenge in the latest 'Mission: Impossible' caper, a fast-paced, gravity-defying thrill ride.

4. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo | Rating: * * *

Rooney Mara glistens like an icicle in the new American adaptation of Stieg Larsson's pulp thriller The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

5. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011)| Rating: * * *

Starring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' is the closest action cinema has ever come to pantomime.

6. Wreckers | Rating: * * *

A debut drama from British director DR Hood, starring Claire Foy and Benedict Cumberbatch

7. Another Earth | Rating: * * *

Another Earth is an admirable debut feature by Mike Cahill.

8. The Lady | Rating: * *

Luc Besson's biopic is a wan tribute to the Burmese democracy campaigner Aung San Suu Kyi, a pale imitation of an inspirational fighter for democracy.

9. Goon | Rating: * *

Seann William Scott stars in a violent comedy about the brutish world of semi-pro ice hockey.

10. Mother and Child | Rating: * *

Annette Bening's (The Kids Are All Right) film about maternity, in all its most yearning and thwarted forms, is such organisational effort that the movie itself resembles protracted labour.

TODAY THE 08/01/2012 I AM THE ANC ACHIEVEMENTS!

As we celebrate 100 years of the existence of the ANC which started in 1912 in Bloemfontein in the free state. I must say I am honored to be living in this time and age.

I am free of all the struggles, that prevented most of our parents to choose their own destiny.

I am self determined, I choose my own destiny all because I am the youth of South Africa.

I am united with the world, all because of a selfless struggle of battles for liberation and self-determination, by many of our heroes and heroins who gave their lives to see it possible for me and you to have a more fulfilled life and future that we all enjoy today .

Viva the spirit of liberation Viva

THE ANC Reports that

"The formation of the ANC in 1912 was a culmination of our people`s struggles against colonialism, and a bringing together of tribal resistance into a common, national struggle against international imperialism and national oppression.

At the core of this struggle being our people`s right to choose their own destiny as a united, non-racial, non-sexist nation.

The African National Congress emerged out of Africa`s battles for liberation and self-determination" .
