My Daughter Anda Tom brought her own Tiara, to Miss Teen Soweto and she got a chance to take pictures with the winners. Me and my cousins Phindile and Xolelwa had some great Fun too.

Miss Soweto 1013 Makhanani Chabalala!

Makhanani Chabalala crowned Miss Soweto 2013 at Jabulani Theatre, a week ago, with Tsakane Mangwane crowened 1st princess and Matshepo Kgoadi crowned 2nd princess.

Basetsana Khumalo and Augustine Masilela were present at Chabalala's crowning and other celebrities such as actress Sophie Ndaba, attended the show.

Makhanani Chabalala, not new to the modeling world, In 2011 she was crowned Miss Roode-poort has also took part in the regional's of Miss South Africa.

She tells Sowetan live that:
"Firstly in all honestly I have always wanted a platform, but did not really plan to enter Miss Soweto. My friend Lebohang (who won the title in 2011) really believed in me and pushed me to enter the pageant. If it were not for her believing in me I would not have even given it a try".

She continues to say:
"I am that girl that is busy all the time. I do promotions and modelling as well as school at the same time. My mom always tell me to take it easy. I just love to work and do believe that I will cope with the new ventures coming my way."

The 21 year old is already busy planning ahead as Miss Soweto and will be hosting a Christmas Party for communities as well as shooting for Soweto TV.

The 21 year old, Bcom student says
"Soweto TV plans to follow my entire reign and we will be doing documentaries. I need to step up, I don't want to be that forgotten Miss Soweto".

Amongst her winnings is R10, 000 sponsored by White Star, and R20 000 from Sakhumizi and a Plasma TV and microwave from Lewis store and also hair products from Motions.

Miss Teen Soweto Crowened

Yesterday the 5th of dec as I attendend Miss Teen Soweto with my family, to Support Thato Makgaka on her modeling journey. I believed she would be crowened,and realy she was; as Thato realy has an amazing beauty and her spirit to succeed is just a driving force for me to believe great things are bound to happen for her. Thato is the 1st princes of Miss Soweto Teen 2013 with the Queen title taken, by the equally deserving Nombuso. I knew Thato had a big competition with this beautiful young queen the minute she answered her question with so much boldness, confidence and full of so much love for the next person. She really showed to be a good ambosodor for the young ones who from today will look up to her. With second princes Naledi.One of The Mc or host for the show was former miss Soweto Teen:Buhle Xulu and her advice to the 'to be' crowened queen simple to be humble and Nombuso clearly boldly displayed that quality.how ever all girls were eaqualy beatiful, not to forget to m
ention some of the Judges Akhumzi Jezile, Viwe from Soweto Sistas show.

Sadly the first thing after such excitement for the girls is to hear the passing of Tata Mandela. Thank you Tata for your love for us all, teaching us to follow our dreams and to have the will to succeed and to be free. May God bless your soul for ever in Jesus name.
