Nyakalo one of the organizers took me through the history of the home, I remember as he visited my home, with some of @ReflectSA fashion designers Lucky and models David.
Nyakalo reminded me that this is the home that once appeared on Zola7 TV show, as Zola7 helped Mama Linda Tukula, who took over the home after her sister, who founded the home passed away. Now Gogo has been moved out of the house, which Zola7 once helped to build the wall .
On the picture here to support the home on the 1ST Dec, I'm with Veronica, far right a Reflect SA model, and her friend on her left. We found no one at the venue where the event was meant to be, I call organizers, they advice the event had been cancelled due to sponsors pulling off, disappointed no one had informed me.
Two of the organizers, Asanda Panther Majozi a DJ of 92.2FM Radio and David came to meet with me, as I called for them to take me to Mama Linda Tukula to drop off clothes that I had collected for the home.
Mama Linda greets us warmly with a smile, as she takes us to her story of suddenly loosing the house where she used to keep the kids, and is now only left with 22 kids from the 60 kids she used to keep back then when Zola7 helped her. She is with two of her then helpers who also took some of the kids into their own homes, after loosing a place to stay.
She explains that three organizations used to occupy the house, her NGO, health and social government then she had to be moved out.
Mama Linda now stays in a back yard in Fine Town still, where she rents 3Rooms for the kids. She appreciates our token of kindness as we donate collected unused clothes and shoes for the kids.
She calls for any one to support with building a home on a vacant plot that she has been awarded by the counselor of ward7, you are welcome too call her on 0836858291 or you can alternatively help her buy an old plot farm, in Fine town with 10 room house built on it: for R75000 priced by owner.
